Dartmouth-Hitchcock is seeking a Manager for our Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Laboratories.   This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to collaborate with the Director to lead the daily operations of invasive cardiology laboratories at a prestigious Academic Medical Center.  This manager will be responsible for resource and financial management and will work collaboratively with physicians, clinical teams and staff members to ensure safe, cost effective and the highest quality patient care and service.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Supervises and collaborates with personnel in the invasive laboratories.
  2. Interviews, hires, counsels, evaluates, trains, develops, and schedules staff.
  3. Monitors staff productivity and ensures quality assurance standards are met.
  4. Ensures staff are fully oriented and trained to perform their roles and provide ongoing opportunities for learning and job enhancement.
  5. Participates in the development of the annual budget for the cardiology invasive laboratories. Reviews monthly reports and participate in analyses of variances. Matches staffing with need in all of the invasive laboratories. Manages all supply expenditures seeking and implementing savings opportunities and quality improvements.
  6. Ensures Joint Commission, OSHA, Medicare, radiation safety, licensing and other regulatory requirements are met in the laboratories.
  7. Develops and manages systems for billing, inventory management, scheduling, budget adherence and managerial and clinical reporting. Compiles statistics. Ensures billing of procedures and supplies are completed accurately.
  8. Plans for, evaluates, and discusses new products and equipment with medical staff and sales representatives.
  9. Participates fully in the decisions regarding acquisition, replacement, and maintenance of major equipment. Evaluates capital equipment needs and make recommendations for acquisition.
  10. Negotiates pricing and services from vendors.
  11. Develops and implements policies for laboratory interaction with vendor representatives.
  12. Participates fully in space design and development.
  13. Ensures all equipment is operating well and meets institutional standards for frequency and accuracy.
  14. Arranges servicing for existing equipment including preventive maintenance.
  15. Ensures orientation, policy, and procedure manuals are updated and available.
  16. May perform functions of invasive laboratory nursing and/or technical staff if appropriate.
  17. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related health care discipline (Nursing, Business, or Health Care Management) and 5+ years of experience in supervision and/or management of Cardiac Catheterization and/or Electrophysiology Labs required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and management skills required.
     
    Required Licensure/Certification Skills:
  • For RNs: Eligible or Licensed Registered Nurse in New Hampshire required.   Basic Life Support (BLS) or higher per unit specific requirements.
