As an experienced LNA, are you looking for something new and exciting in your clinical career? Have you thought about the complexities, challenges and rewards of working in wound care? If so, the Wound Care Services at Dartmouth-Hitchcock is looking for experienced LNAs who are interested in an employee that will support them through excellent team support and continuing education opportunities. You will apprentice under the supervision of our experienced CWCN team at DHMC.


Certified Wound Care Nurses (CWCNs) and Nurse Practitioners work in a unique healthcare niche--wound prevention and management. They are the specialists who assess, treat and monitor patients' wounds and promote health management practices that prevent recurrence. Their work helps to minimize suffering and loss of function as well as serious and even life-threatening complications.


You will be working as an LNA in the Comprehensive Wound Healing Center (CWHC), a Hospital Outpatient Department, among a team comprised of Nurse Practitioners Nurse Clinicians, and Licensed Nursing Assistants. The CWHC is a busy, fast paced environment with more than 12,000 patient visits per year.

As a valued member of the team, you will join the Nurse Clinicians, APRNs and Podiatrist in providing evidenced based practice, utilizing established clinical pathways and advanced wound care modalities. You can make positive improvements to the quality of our patient’s lives.

Responsibilities: A listing of the key responsibilities

  1. Assists with routine patient care activities under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, including, but not be limited to, performing ADL’s, obtaining clinical data, including vital signs, heights and weights, utilizing universal precautions, collecting specimens or performing point of care testing and recording results in medical record, etc.
  2. Assists in maintaining a clean and safe work environment by keeping the hallways clear of excess equipment, emptying linen bags when full, etc.
  3. Assists visitors and answer telephones.
  4. Assists new co-workers in learning the work of the department.
  5. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school graduate required.
  • Must demonstrate keyboarding skills and be familiar with computer use. 
  • Previous hospital experience preferred.
Required Licensure/Certification Skills:
  • Licensed Nursing Assistant in the State of NH required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required.
