Assists in the development and maintenance of standard and activity based costs for Dartmouth-Hitchcock and supports the Patient Focused Economic Analysis (PFEA) dataset creation.  Develops and maintains reports used in the analysis of service line profitability and performs analysis of data. Participates in the education of the user community.
  1. Assumes responsibility for the ongoing development of standard cost accounting theory and philosophy.
  2. Implements software to process data developed in the standard cost accounting effort and maintains database.
  3. Develops methods of analysis based on the standard cost accounting database and theory.
  4. Oversees the Budget Accountant in implementation and maintenance of the standard cost accounting database. Provides input to the Director for performance evaluation(s).
  5. Maintains a working knowledge of the budget process, budget development, and budget systems. Implements and maintains interaction with standard cost data and the budget process.
  6. Performs analysis and direction for assigned departments in the role of a Financial Liaison.
  7. Maintains a working knowledge of the General Ledger, Payroll, and other financial systems operating in Fiscal Services.
  8. Educates users of the standard cost accounting system and data.
  9. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with 5 years of experience in cost accounting and a solid general accounting background. 
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance and/or Accounting preferred. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. 
  • Working knowledge of Personal Computers required.
