Cardiac Sonographer sign on incentives:
up to $7500*
Performs the duties of a Cardiac Sonographer.  Performs 2-D, M-mode and Doppler Echocardiograms, Stress Echocardiograms and assists with Tranesophageal Echocardiograms.  Provides training on 3D Echocardiograms.
Responsibilities: A listing of the key responsibilities:
  1. Performs all Cardiac Echocardiogram procedures.  Acts as a technical resource for residents and fellows.  Edits tracings, makes measurements and enters data into computer.  Distinguishes between normal and abnormal cardiac findings.
  2. Performs on-call and cardiac sonographer duties to meet departmental needs.  Recognizes arrhythmias and implications of specific cardiac and related diagnoses to obtain optimal studies and operates complex equipment accordingly.
  3. Facilitates patient flow within the section and maintains a proactive approach in dealing with patient concerns.  Seeks and develops new measures to improve the quality of patient care using a multi-disciplinary approach. 
  4. Plans and executes improvement efforts and resolves issues.  Participates in Quality Assurance and Quality control programs.
  5. Works with the quality control section to achieve section and departmental quality standards, in order to maintain Joint Commission and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance, and any other regulations specific to the section.
  6. Assists in preparing, reviewing, updating and maintaining the policy and procedures manual as well as the clinical resource manual and materials.
  7. Ensures that equipment failures are reported and documented and that all equipment and supplies are available.
  8. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree with 1 year of cardiac experience or the equivalent in education and experience required.
Required Licensure/Certification Skills:
  • Certified through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) in Adult Echocardiography (preferred pediatric) or its equivalent within one year of eligibility to take the boards.
  • BLS Certification required
  • Licensed by the Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy in the state of New Hampshire.
